My early experiences with education
There is nothing I love more then learning. At times I think my role one this planet is to absorb and spread information. I have consistently been surrounded with great educators. My family is bursting with amazing teachers, but my formal music training took of when I was thirteen a the National Guitar Workshop.
After spending many summers learning to play bass at the National Guitar Workshop, they hired me to be the live sound engineer and teach the live sound and stagecraft classes. While I enjoyed the late nights and excitement of being an engineer, teaching the campers peaked my interest in education.
Eventually, summers were spent at the NGW camups and the rest of the year was spent at Berklee College of Music training to play bass, compose and produce. I graduated with with honors in 2001, a dual major in bass performance and Contemporary Writing & Production. Immediately after graduating, the Writing Division hired me to maintain computers and train faculty in music technology.
After a few years I moved into a faculty role for the CWP department, focusing on their technology and production classes.
