Advanced Music Production with Ableton Live
You can check out my online course over at Berkleemusic.com where you can see a sample of the course. In creating this course I tried to take a holistic approach to the music production process. Compositional and orchestration ideas are placed alongside the technical tools. The goal was to give each technical process a musical context. This approach gives every level of student valuable information. Students that are great composers but lack the technical knowledge spend more time on the technical aspect. Students that really know the program spend more time on the musical topics.
In really looking into the tools of Ableton live, I found compositional approaches unique to the program. The course is full of my original approach to composing and working with Ableton Live. The content will not be found anywhere else.
I took great pride in creating content that is easy to use and looks great. All the screenshots are meticulisly labled and the videos are indepth and clear. There are many unique web apps that create a rich learning environment including, video, interactive zoomable graphics, “pop-up video” mix analysis, and an interactive laptop performance video that includes switchable camera angles and an optional commentary on what I am dong.
I am dedicated to keeping the course up to date with the latest version of Live and I am continually adding and improving the content. I have already updated the content to include the latest features in Ableton Live 8.
After 3 semesters the response has been great and I love teaching my own content. Check it out and feel free to send me an e-mail asking about the course.
